The Ministry is migrating nzmaths content to Tāhurangi.
Relevant and up-to-date teaching resources are being moved to Tāhūrangi (tahurangi.education.govt.nz).
When all identified resources have been successfully moved, this website will close. We expect this to be in June 2024.
e-ako maths, e-ako Pāngarau, and e-ako PLD 360 will continue to be available.

TIMSS items require students to find the symmetries of given figures, and represent the result of a transformation (translation, reflection, rotation) on a shape. Enlargement is addressed through students recognising the properties of congruent and similar triangles and quadrilaterals.

These units of work will improve students' fluency with transformations:

Students will also benefit from working independently or collaboratively on the following student e-ako on the Geometry and Measurement pathways (information about e-ako maths):

G4.10: Recognising transformations in patterns

M4.3: Angles, transformations, and properties of quadrilaterals

M5.3: Investigating similar shapes
