Modeling numbers: 3-digit numbers

The Ministry is migrating nzmaths content to Tāhurangi.
Relevant and up-to-date teaching resources are being moved to Tāhūrangi (tahurangi.education.govt.nz).
When all identified resources have been successfully moved, this website will close. We expect this to be in June 2024.
e-ako maths, e-ako Pāngarau, and e-ako PLD 360 will continue to be available.

Modeling Numbers.

The three 'Modeling Numbers' learning objects allow the user to explore numbers using a variety of different representations.  The number being shown can be adjusted by clicking on arrows above and below each digit.  The place value equipment and written forms of the number change automatically.  Clicking on the speaker reads the number aloud and other representations can be seen by clicking on the left and right arrows.

If you click on the die, the learning object will generate a random number and challenge the user to show it using the interface.  Some supporting feedback is provided.
