Relevant and up-to-date teaching resources are being moved to Tāhūrangi (tahurangi.education.govt.nz). 
When all identified resources have been successfully moved, this website will close. We expect this to be in June 2024.

Achievement Objectives
NA1-1: Use a range of counting, grouping, and equal-sharing strategies with whole numbers and fractions.
NA1-2: Know the forward and backward counting sequences of whole numbers to 100.
NA3-3: Know counting sequences for whole numbers.
NA4-6: Know the relative size and place value structure of positive and negative integers and decimals to three places.

Activity

Show the students a card and ask the students what number it is. “Draw” the number in the air with your hand. “Draw” the number on the mat in large writing. Encourage your students also to “draw” the number in the air.  Example: Repeat with further cards.
