Purpose:
- To give practice in identifying and hearing numbers that end in ‘teen’ and numbers that end in ‘ty’.
You need:
- Game board (one per player) (PDF, 4KB)
- Caller's numbers (PDF, 4KB)
- Four players
How to play:
- This game is played exactly like Bingo.
- A caller reads the number and if it is on their board the child will cover the number.
- The one who has all the numbers on their board covered is the winner if they pass the check test.
- Their numbers need to be checked as they may not have heard them correctly. For example, if 17 is called they may have covered 70.
- Give children practise in reading the numbers aloud.
Variations:
- Play a traditional game of bingo if you have one.
- Make a 3 x 3 grid and use numbers to 20.
- Read statements so the children have to cover the answer. For example, make a set of cards that have statements like 20 + 30 or 7 + 7 or 6 + 6 + 1. They would have to cover 50, 14 and 13 if they had them on their gameboard.
