Updates to nzmaths

During 2015 we worked with a web design team to develop a new look and structure for nzmaths. Several hundred teachers and facilitators gave feedback as the new design evolved.

This new design will be launched to the live site during February, but we thought you might like a preview of what to expect.

New key collections on nzmaths
All the same material is on the site but we’ve made changes to how our large collection of content is grouped. The aim is to make it easier to find all the content that is of interest to you. The image to the right (click to enlarge) show how the homepage will group content into three key collections: professional learning and development, teaching resources, and students and whanau.

PLD 360
As part of our changes we're also updating the way our professional learning and development material is presented. The new PLD 360 section uses the same functionality as e-ako maths so that you can interact with the material and keep a track of your learning.

We have developed a system that will enable you to access all of this content through your nzmaths login. All you'll need to do is spend a few seconds either connecting your existing e-ako maths account to your nzmaths account, or creating a new PLD 360 account. From then on you will be able to log in to nzmaths and click straight through to PLD 360.

Creating classes in e-ako maths
Many users have asked us to provide them with a way to create classes and monitor the progress of students in e-ako maths. Before the end of February you will be able to do this through your nzmaths account.

If you want to be kept up to date with changes as they are made, make sure that you are a member of the Updates to nzmaths professional learning community.
