Encouraging self correction

The Ministry is migrating nzmaths content to Tāhurangi.
Relevant and up-to-date teaching resources are being moved to Tāhūrangi (tahurangi.education.govt.nz).
When all identified resources have been successfully moved, this website will close. We expect this to be in June 2024.
e-ako maths, e-ako Pāngarau, and e-ako PLD 360 will continue to be available.

“I’ve found when I am teaching in a group.... doing problems and students give me a wrong answer.....”

Self corrections are to be encouraged and explored as important learning opportunities.
If children feel it is safe to make mistakes and if they are encouraged to explore and understand their errors, much learning will occur.
“A mistake is not simply a mistake if it becomes a powerful lesson.”
