Relevant and up-to-date teaching resources are being moved to Tāhūrangi (tahurangi.education.govt.nz). 
When all identified resources have been successfully moved, this website will close. We expect this to be in June 2024. 
e-ako maths, e-ako Pāngarau, and e-ako PLD 360 will continue to be available.

October 2016: Problem Solving section updated: all problems updated including new copymasters; templates for customising problems provided.

September 2016: Planning Sheets updated to include hyperlinks to online resources.

July 2016: Level 1 Rich Learning Activities are available. These activities can be accessed through the Teaching Material section of nzmaths.

April 2016: Teachers can upload a spreadsheet of students' names to quickly create e-ako accounts for all students in their class.

March 2016: Teachers can now create a class in e-ako maths, to allow them to track their students' progress. Teachers now also login to e-ako maths using their nzmaths account. 

March 2016: New look released for nzmaths. The content of the site is now grouped under three key collections - PLD material, teaching resources, and resources for students and whānau. 

February 2016: Level 2 Rich Learning Activities are available. These activities can be accessed through the Teaching Material section of nzmaths.

December 2015: Two new categories have been added to the Maths kete in the Families section.

September 2015: A 'cutting cubes' e-ako has been added to the problem solving pathway on e-ako maths

June 2015: Twelve Te Whārite me te Kīanga (Equations and Expressions) e-ako have been added to the Taurangi (Algebra) pathway in e-ako Pāngarau.

June 2015: A collection of FAQs for families has been developed and added to answer key questions parents may have about their child’s maths education.

June 2015: The collection of Rich Learning Activities now includes activities at level 3, level 4 and level 5. These activities can be accessed through the Teaching Material section of nzmaths.

June 2015: A probability and statistics pathway has been added to e-ako maths. There are currently 4 probability e-ako and 8 statistics e-ako in this pathway. Further e-ako will be added during Term 3.

January 2015: Two new resource types have been added to the website: The Level 4 rich learning activities are a collection of tasks with engaging contexts which include annotated student work to illustrate a range of approaches. Take This is a collection of ‘springboard ideas’ which support you in flexibly connecting mathematics across the strands.

January 2015: A video introducing key ideas about the 'Mathematics Inquiry Communities' being developed by Dr Bobbie Hunter and her team has been added to the website. 

January 2015: Five further measurement e-ako have been added to the geometry and measurement pathway on e-ako maths. There are now 27 measurement e-ako, 12 geometry e-ako and 4 assessment e-ako in this pathway. This pathway is now complete.

January 2015: Four new e-ako have been added to the problem solving pathway in e-ako maths. The new e-ako are: Humans and Aliens, More Circles, Concrete Trucks, and The 13 Puzzle.

January 2015: Several new e-ako have been added to the "Other PLD" pathway in e-ako maths. If you are a teacher and have not yet added the PLD pathways to your e-ako account, log in, go to your profile page, and enter C541BD in the "Move Code" box.

December 2014: A Lesson study professional learning community has been created. You can join this PLC to view and provide feedback on a lesson introduction.

December 2014: Further e-ako have been added to the geometry and measurement pathway on e-ako maths. There are now 22 measurement e-ako, 12 geometry e-ako and 4 assessment e-ako in this pathway.

November 2014: A new Tauira me te Pānga (patterns and relationships) pathway with 18 new e-ako has been added to e-ako Pāngarau.

October 2014: The Families section has been updated to include a section called "Supporting school maths". This section includes an interactive module introducing families to e-ako maths.

October 2014: Several small changes have been made to the Junior Assessment of Mathematics. New files and information on ordering hard copies is available on the Junior Assessment of Mathematics page.

September 2014: Teachers can now add the professional learning e-ako to their e-ako maths account. Further details are available on the e-ako maths information page.

September 2014: A Problem Solving professional learning community has been created. Problems at NZC levels 1, 2 and 3 will be posted each month for discussion.

June 2014: Further e-ako have been added to the geometry and measurement pathway on e-ako maths. There are now 17 measurement e-ako and 9 geometry e-ako in this pathway.

June 2014: The page references on the NDP material masters have been amended. All references to Book 5 now relate to the latest version.

June 2014: A collection of rich learning activities has been added in the Secondary section of the site. The activities are designed to provide engaging contexts in which to explore the achievement objectives from Level 5 of the NZC.

May 2014: Further e-ako have been added to the geometry and measurement pathway on e-ako maths. There are now 11 measurement e-ako and 6 geometry e-ako in this pathway.
