NZ mathematics education reports

National Monitoring Study of Student Achievement (NMSSA)
NMSSA monitors achievement in Years 4 and 8. All learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum are covered over a five-year cycle. Latest results for mathematics and statistics are available for 2013. 
Best Evidence Synthesis (BES)
The Best Evidence Synthesis Mathematics and Pāngarau (BES) synthesises New Zealand evidence and international research about quality mathematics teaching. Published in 2007, it is part of a research programme funded by the Ministry of Education to inform policy and practice in New Zealand.
Education Review Office (ERO)

TIMSS is an international study on student achievement in mathematics and science. It involves New Zealand students in Years 5 and 9, every four years. Latest results are available for 2014/2015.
Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)
PISA is an international study that assesses how well 15 year-olds are prepared to meet the challenges of today’s society. It includes an assessment of mathematical literacy and is carried out every three years. Latest results are available for 2015.
