The Ministry is migrating nzmaths content to Tāhurangi.

Purpose

These exercises and activities are for students to use independently of the teacher to practice number properties.

Activity

Prior knowledge. Students should be able to:

  • Simplify fractions
  • Convert fractions to decimals

Background

Students who can know simple percentages equivalent to ½ or ¼ etc, and their equivalent value as decimals will find this activity very accessible.

These activities can be used to follow the teaching episodes based on, Book 7, pages 31 to 33 and are for those students who are able to use the associated number properties.
